With the recent snow and extreme cold, cabin fever has begun to set in for many of us. Spring Creek Dental is proud to sponsor community events this February and March designed to liven up an otherwise cold, dreary evening. Spring Creek Dental was again proud to be an Event Sponsor for the 2019 Hudson Hot Affair. From the Torchlight parade to the balloon launch, it was a wonderful event for all! Be sure to mark you calendars for next month’s River Falls Fly Fishing Film Festival at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls campus. It is a wonderful, family friendly event with all proceeds benefitting the Kinnickinnic River Land Trust. Hope to see you all there!
February is also National Children’s Dental Health Month. Because developing good habits at an early age and scheduling regular dental visits helps children get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums, the American Dental Association sponsors National Children’s Dental Health Month every year to raise awareness about the importance of oral health.
Despite the fact that it’s almost entirely preventable, tooth decay is the most common chronic disease in children. The good news is there are safe and effective preventive measures that can protect teeth. Good oral hygiene practices such as thorough brushing with a fluoride toothpaste can help keep children from getting cavities. In addition, dental sealants and community water fluoridation are two other strategies that can help prevent tooth decay.
And finally, February 14th is Valentine’s Day. It’s a day known for love which has turned into a major celebration. While giving and receiving gifts is nice, we think you should celebrate Valentine’s Day by making yourself the priority. Studies show that people who care for their teeth have overall better health! All the more reason to show love for your teeth with good oral care habits: brushing twice a day for two minutes, flossing daily, mouthwash use, and chewing sugar-free gum after eating are easy ways to show your teeth some love.
